Landmarks Turning Teal for PCOS Awareness Month!
Happy September! It’s PCOS Awareness Month and although I’ve been away from my blog for a year or so, on a kind of hiatus, something incredible is happening today and all month around the world
and it is the perfect moment for me to jump back into my role as a hormone health advocate.
It’s been a rough road for the past year and I have lots of new experiences to share – it’s amazing what a person can endure (maybe someday I’ll share the details in a book) for now I’m just super excited to be sharing this incredible story of awareness with you.
My dear friend, Sasha Ottey, of PCOS Challenge fame works tirelessly with other PCOS Advocates and volunteers and makes shit happen!
Landmarks around the globe are lighting up teal TODAY (and in some cases throughout the month) for PCOS Awareness Month so look up…..look waaaaaay up and the skies around the world may just be shining teal in your area. If you click on the photo or this link: http://pcosawarenessmonth.org/pcos-lighting-events/ you’ll see the schedule of landmarks lighting up teal around the world this month.
PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association will kick off the inaugural World PCOS Day of Unity. People around the world will come together in solidarity to promote PCOS Awareness and support those who are impacted by polycystic ovary syndrome. PCOS is a genetic, hormone, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects 10-15% of women in the U.S. and up to 21% in other countries.
This is an example of patient driven initiatives and I’m proud to know this amazing group of women who work every single day to help other women!
