One Step Closer to At-Home Hormone Testing
As a woman with a hormone health condition, you know that one of the biggest challenges we all face is access to testing. Either we can’t get testing at all because our doctors don’t have advanced information or we don’t get the proper tests to tell the whole story or it’s not affordable, it’s always super inconvenient and takes forever to get results which leaves us suffering for way too long.
There is no question that access to testing would have changed my life starting from my adolescence and all throughout my 20’s and beyond. When I finally set out to help find solutions to the massive amount of problems I see in women’s health the one thing I wanted to do was find a way to provide convenient affordable testing and remove the gatekeepers.
I’ve been working on this problem for 5 years, mostly quietly and in the background. I’m not even a scientist but found an incredible world-class team of scientists to help me figure this out. You know what they say just surround yourself with the smartest people? Well that’s what I do every day and it resulted in devising a breakthrough technology. I’m so thrilled to finally be getting out and telling the world (mostly the startup world right now) about how difficult it is for us to get the help we need to find the answers. It all starts with testing.
In the startup world there are so many exciting things going on and to be honest, discussing women’s health issues like PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disorder, infertility and miscarriages, menstrual problems isn’t that “sexy” of a topic and people don’t always want to talk about it let alone invest in it. Not everyone knows how huge the problem is and it’s important to find a way to tell “our” stories so that they can see that the problem is real and affects hundreds of millions of us on the daily!
I never set out to be an entrepreneur. And to be honest if I’d known how hard it really was going to be I don’t know if I would have signed up for this! And of course I have a public speaking phobia but the problem is so huge and so troublesome I just have to keep trying to solve this problem. My passion keeps me going and so does your support. I’d love your help and support in changing the world of hormone testing. I can’t do this alone. DM me if you have any questions or comments or want to help in any way. As always I would love to hear from you. Here’s to happy hormones
And the great news……I won the Challenge in Ottawa among 150 entrepreneurs who had amazing ideas and technology. I made my way through 3 pitches and the 5 esteemed judges made a unanimous decision to vote for our at-home hormone testing – the QT Sensor! I move onto the finals next fall where I’ll compete against 6 other regional winners. Let’s do this thing! You can check out the article below.
